Preheat oven to 450 degrees Fahrenheit. Coat cavities of a muffin pan with nonstick cooking spray.

Place 2 to 3 frozen tater tots in each cup if using a mini muffin pan, or 4 to 5 tots per cup for a standard muffin pan.

Position muffin pan on oven’s bottom rack and bake for 10 minutes. Remove pan from oven.

Spray the bottom of a shot glass or small juice glass with nonstick spray. Gently press into each muffin cup of partially baked tots, twisting until the potato edges reach the top to form a cup shape.

Return muffin pan to oven and bake an additional 15 minutes, or until tater tot cups are deep golden brown.

Add 1 tablespoon shredded cheese to each potato cup. Bake for 4 to 5 minutes, or until cheese is fully melted. Transfer to a serving platter and cool for 5 minutes.

Top each cup with sour cream, crumbled bacon, and sliced green onions. Serve warm.
