Spread a thin layer of mayonnaise or mustard on one side of each slice of sandwich bread, if desired.

Arrange turkey evenly over half the bread slices, mayo or mustard side facing up.

Spoon stuffing evenly over the turkey slices.

Spread cranberry sauce over the stuffing layer.

If desired, place a slice of cheese on top of the cranberry sauce on each sandwich.

Cover each sandwich with a second slice of bread, condiment side down.

Heat a skillet over medium heat. Add butter to the pan and grill sandwiches for 3 to 4 minutes per side, pressing gently, until golden brown and cheese melts.

Remove sandwiches from the skillet, slice in half, and serve warm.
