In a large saucepan, bring chicken broth, milk, butter, salt, and pepper to a boil. Slowly stir in grits. Reduce heat, cover, and cook for 15-20 minutes or until thickened, stirring occasionally. Stir in cheddar cheese until melted. Set aside and keep warm.

In a large skillet, cook chopped bacon over medium heat until crisp. Remove to paper towels with a slotted spoon to drain, reserving 4 teaspoons of bacon drippings.

Saute shrimp, minced garlic, and Cajun or blackened seasoning in reserved drippings over medium heat until shrimp turn pink. Stir in cooked bacon and heat through.

Serve shrimp mixture over grits, and sprinkle with chopped green onions as garnish.
