03 - 1/3 cup whole milk
04 - 1 large egg
05 - 1/4 cup ketchup
06 - 1 teaspoon garlic powder
07 - 1 teaspoon onion powder
08 - 1/2 teaspoon salt
09 - 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

→ Mashed Potato Layer

10 - 3 cups prepared mashed potatoes
11 - 1/4 cup sour cream
12 - 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
13 - Salt and black pepper, to taste

→ Assembly

14 - 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
15 - Fresh parsley, optional, for garnish

# How to Make It:

01 - Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
02 - In a large mixing bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, milk, egg, ketchup, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix thoroughly until just combined; avoid overmixing.
03 - Transfer the mixture to a greased 9x5-inch loaf pan or form into a loaf shape on a parchment-lined baking tray. Bake uncovered for 20 minutes.
04 - In a separate bowl, blend mashed potatoes with sour cream and butter. Season with salt and black pepper to taste. Stir until creamy and smooth.
05 - Remove the partially baked meatloaf from the oven. Evenly spread the mashed potato mixture over the meatloaf. Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese over the top.
06 - Return to the oven and bake for an additional 25 minutes, or until cheese is melted and bubbly and the center of the meatloaf reaches an internal temperature of 160°F (71°C).
07 - Allow meatloaf with mashed potatoes and cheese to rest for 10 minutes before slicing. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley if desired.

# Extra Tips:

01 - For an extra smooth mashed potato layer, use warm potatoes and whisk in butter and sour cream thoroughly.
