14 - Powdered sugar, for dusting

# How to Make It:

01 - Preheat the oven to 350°F. Generously grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
02 - In a bowl, combine sliced apples with packed brown sugar, vanilla extract, lemon juice, and ground nutmeg. Toss well and set aside.
03 - In a large mixing bowl, beat unsalted butter and granulated sugar together until light and fluffy, about 3 to 5 minutes.
04 - Add eggs one at a time to the creamed mixture, mixing thoroughly after each addition.
05 - In a separate bowl, whisk together all-purpose flour, baking powder, ground cinnamon, and salt.
06 - Alternately add the flour mixture and milk to the creamed butter mixture, mixing gently until just combined. Do not overmix.
07 - Spread half of the batter evenly into the prepared baking dish. Arrange the apple mixture evenly on top. Cover with the remaining batter, smoothing the surface.
08 - Place the dish in the oven and bake for 30 to 45 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean and the surface is golden.
09 - Allow the cake to cool for several minutes before dusting generously with powdered sugar. Slice and serve warm or at room temperature.

# Extra Tips:

01 - For best results, select firm, tart apples such as Granny Smith or Braeburn.
