Set oven temperature to 350°F (175°C) and allow to preheat.

Heat a large skillet over medium heat and add the butter. Once melted, add frozen corn kernels and cook until softened.

Add the cubed cream cheese to the skillet and stir continuously until melted and thoroughly blended with the corn.

Stir in the ranch seasoning mix and bacon bits or chopped bacon until evenly distributed.

Remove skillet from heat and mix in 1 cup of shredded Cheddar Jack cheese.

Pour mixture into a baking dish, spreading evenly. Sprinkle the remaining cup of shredded cheese over the top.

Bake in the preheated oven for 20 to 30 minutes, or until the sauce is bubbling and the cheese topping is melted and lightly golden.
