Arrange wonton wrappers on a flat surface. Spoon approximately one tablespoon of filling onto the center of each wrapper. Lightly brush the edges with water, then fold each wrapper diagonally to form a triangle. Press the edges firmly to seal.

Pour vegetable oil into a deep skillet to a depth of about 1.5 inches and heat over medium-high until oil reaches 350°F.

Fry the filled wontons in batches of three to four, cooking each side for 3 to 4 minutes or until they become golden brown and crisp. Use a slotted spoon to remove and transfer to a plate lined with paper towels.
