# What You Need:

→ Cake Layer

01 - 1 box chocolate cake mix or 1 homemade chocolate cake

→ Whipped Cream

02 - 1 cup heavy cream
03 - 1/2 cup powdered sugar
04 - 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

→ Cherry Filling

05 - 2 cups canned or fresh cherries, pitted, with juice or syrup
06 - 1/4 cup cherry juice, reserved from canned or fresh cherries

→ Pudding Layer

07 - 2 cups vanilla pudding, store-bought or homemade

→ Chocolate Garnish

08 - 1/2 cup dark chocolate shavings or grated chocolate
09 - 1 tablespoon cocoa powder, for garnish (optional)

# How to Make It:

01 - Bake the chocolate cake according to the package instructions or your preferred homemade recipe. Allow the cake to cool completely, then cut or break into bite-sized cubes.
02 - In a chilled bowl, combine heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract. Whip until stiff peaks form, then refrigerate until ready to assemble.
03 - If using canned cherries, drain and reserve 1/4 cup cherry juice. If using fresh cherries, pit them and set aside, reserving any juice.
04 - In a large glass bowl or individual serving glasses, arrange a layer of chocolate cake cubes as the base. Drizzle with a portion of cherry juice to moisten.
05 - Spoon half of the cherries and half of the vanilla pudding evenly over the cake. Repeat the layering process with remaining cake cubes, cherry juice, cherries, and pudding.
06 - Spread whipped cream over the top layer. Garnish with dark chocolate shavings and lightly dust with cocoa powder if desired.
07 - Refrigerate the trifle for at least 2 hours to allow flavors to meld. Serve chilled, scooping through all layers for each portion.

# Extra Tips:

01 - For best results, assemble the trifle several hours in advance to ensure the flavors blend and the cake absorbs the cherry juice. Garnish just before serving to maintain texture.
