Pat chicken breasts dry and season evenly with salt, black pepper, and half of the ranch seasoning mix.

Heat olive oil or butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Sear chicken breasts for 4 to 5 minutes per side until golden brown and fully cooked, or bake at 375°F for 25 to 30 minutes.

Combine sour cream with the remaining ranch seasoning mix in a small bowl until smooth.

Spread sour cream mixture over cooked chicken breasts. Sprinkle evenly with shredded cheddar cheese and crumbled bacon.

Cover skillet to allow cheese to melt, or place under the broiler for 2 to 3 minutes until bubbly and golden.

Garnish with fresh parsley or sliced green onions if desired. Serve immediately.
